In Wynwood, where art and food blend, BAKAN challenges you to rediscover authenticity.

Who would have thought that in the middle of Wynwood, that neighborhood where art seems to spill from the walls, you'd find a spot promising authentic Mexican food? Yes, I'm talking about BAKAN. I didn't believe it until I tried their tlayuda, and even then, I thought it was just a gimmicky marketing move for unsuspecting tourists. I was wrong about this.

What you get here is an experience that deceives the eye but not the palate. Sure, the vibe has that Wynwood touch: vibrant, colorful, a bit chaotic but in the best way. But the seasoning at BAKAN, that's pure Mexico. It's not the usual place offering tacos and margaritas for $19 and nothing more.

Walking down NW 2nd Ave on a Thursday at 11:17pm, the place was still bustling with life. Around 47 customers chatted animatedly as neon lights cast shadows on their faces. And there, between bites of cochinita pibil, you realize BAKAN has earned its place.

But there's one detail that truly sets it apart: its mezcal bar. It's not huge, but each bottle tells a story. And that, my friends, is art in its purest form. How many places can say that?

So next time you think you've explored all of Wynwood, why not give BAKAN a shot? Could this be the place where authenticity and modernity finally meet?
