Auto-generatedLong time coming.
Long time coming. I'm excited. There's already food here.
There's already food here. My boy. Honestly, bro.
My boy, he read He read us ahead of ahead of He was ahead of the curve. He told me, "Yo, I got something waiting for you. Order some stuff."
Shout out to UV box, dude.
I love these Legiti boxes. These are the [ __ ]
This is amazing. So, I take a look at this.
Ram,
we're here for the bakery. For those people who don't know you, explain to them a little bit about yourself and your history.
Yeah. So, uh I own the bakery. It was originally in Coral Gables. We're on Miracle Mile. It's a retail store where we sell everything that I'm into. We sell exotic snacks, snacks from all over the world. We sell vintage clothes. We have a clothing brand. All the good stuff. We sell Wagu. We sell caviar. We sell cool olive oils, beers from all over. Anything you can think of all in one place.
Well, actually, I I went to a store a lot of times, you know, usually after I would have a couple drinks, you know,
the best time to head over to,
you know, get a vape or something like that,
take a lab, see what's new. Um, I would see like these like random, you know, candies and chips from Japan and Korea and all that stuff and I always wondered, does this stuff actually sell? And if so, what's like your highest selling item or the are there kids buying that stuff? Is it like a social media thing?
For sure. So, we opened in 2021. It was a little bit early on the exotic snack trend. Nowadays, you go into a gas station, you go to any smoke shop, you go to they're all trying Japanese stuff. So, I think what we did good is we curated from all over the world. that carried stuff from the US, carried stuff from Canada, from India, Dubai, France, all over. And we weren't just specific to stuff you can find in the Asia Mart or anything like that, right? So, was trying to bring on new flavors, different things, and it killed it for us. Obviously, the trend starts to die down. More people are aware of it. And it's it's um not a gimmick thing, but like dude, you're spending between like $5 and $15 on a bag of chips sometimes, right? So, like that's cool. You want to try it, it's fun for a little bit, but it's tough to keep that consistent. So, what we did good with was we were changing the menu up all the time. We're bringing new stuff all the time. Like if we carry trouble tips one week and they sell out, we might not ever get them again. We'll get something else take its place, you know. So
they made it like exclusive%.
Now question, where are you sourcing this stuff from? It's just like I mean you don't got to get reveal the secrets of your business, you know, but is it like you just have contacts all over the world?
Yeah. So I think the golden rule of life is especially in business, just be nice to everybody you meet, bro. There's no reason to not show love support when you can do what you can there. So we've been able to get a lot of the contacts, not just wholesalers who sell to these Asian markets and these Indian stores and things like that, but direct contacts overseas, even people we can relate to. new limited edition flavors are coming out. So, every year in Japan, they do like a big um new year thing and they'll release like
Oh, wow.
Have the tariffs affected you?
Um so, we buy everything landed and like I pay a little extra for that, but originally when we were shipping stuff from overseas, a lot of stuff gets stuck in customs. You wait four months to get it. You get chips that are expired. They're digging through it. So, the best advice I give anybody right now is buy your stuff landed, pay a little extra, pay the premium, and just like, you know, create your brand around that. Makes it easier.
So, you So, you started the store in Coral Gables. Yes. Okay. Best city in the world.
Best city in the world. I agree. Honestly, especially after that Beverly Hills article came out, this thing has been on fire here. I love the Gables. I love the Gables.
If you're into food and shopping, this is the nicest place to be. Honestly, like it has
Yeah.
Now, now you're in Riverlanding.
Yes, sir.
Okay. Which is a great person, but tell us a little bit about the story of of Coral Gables. Um, you know, how h how it went at that store. I know you switched from one store to the other. You guys a little insight on on that operation.
I have nothing but good things to say about the city of Coral Gables. I love the people. I love all the like the events they do for the city, the stuff they do for the residents and like especially the businesses around us. I think there's a good job of everybody supports everybody in the Gables. Um the only downside I have is we do a lot of like events and we do like like activations and cool things like that. And we're trying to bring something new for the city and Vince Lago is the homie, man. He looks out any way he can. Like he does everything. It's everybody under him that makes it a little bit harder every time, right? And so that's the only downside I had for being here. But dude, I have nothing but good things to say. We work a lot with M. Um like half the kids on the football team come shop with us all the time. We do a lot of their closets. A lot of them are in the league now. Um, small examples, Elijah Roy is a good friend of mine. We send him clothes all the time. He wears things like that. Like he
they all support when they can. And like I like I said, Gables is a very tight-knit community. It's similar to like when people leave New York and they only talk about from New York. I feel like Gables is very much the same, right?
It's the only city in in the county that you get that small town feel.
Funny like a homemark town almost, you know. Yeah.
And then you could walk on the street. Hey, there's Kiko.
You actually see the seasons, you know. try at least 100%. The businesses do a good job in like, you know, like making people feel welcome. You know, you walk into the office, you walk out the back, you go somewhere else, you know, that's the only place in Miami that you can feel like
a big sense of of community, you know. Um, I don't know uh if you know, but I'm pretty famous at Riverland. I' I've heard
you see I asked for an autograph when I got here.
You know, my boys Andrew and stuff like that. Are you going to be expanding there or Coral Gables going there? You're expanding or
so? No. We closed the Gable store down in July. We moved over to Riverlanding. Um, literally Ed introduced us to Andrew Helinger and um, strictly off that one meeting, I really believe in what he's doing. He's the whole reason we're there genuinely. Like I think his really good idea, good vision for what the space should be and hopefully we can help him bring it together.
Let me tell you how close me and Andrew are. He asked me to roast him on his birthday.
Andrew, I think I've known you like a year. You sure he's like Gigo? Go ham.
He's I love that guy.
He's amazing and a visionary, too.
100%.
So, listen. So something that I what I love about you going to Riverlanding is that Riverlanding has phenomenal spacing and they love to do cross marketing between their businesses.
And I think one of your uh premier values, you know, as a person and what I've seen you do online is you do a very good job of bringing these like very um cultivating these little events, you know, um where they're what's the word I'm looking for? Experiences. They're very not not so much community, exclusive experiences.
Oneoff events,
one-off events, exclusive experiences that you organize. And talk to me a little about that cuz I seen you cutting up tuna.
We're here tunas and stuff like that. Like really random stuff that you're like, "Fuck, I wish I would have known I would have gone over there." You know?
He reminds me of when I was 30, you know? Tell me about you could have given me, bro. 420 at the eating house doing some macasi,
dude. So, first and foremost, I'm a big foodie, bro. Like, I my favorite thing to do is to go to dinner. I want to like hang out with my friends.
I'm like my
He's officially part of the Lunch Boys now.
Yeah. I'm trying to see if I had a son back in the 90s. Figure it out.
Everybody you mentioned that was my boy. Like you mentioned Pablo at Dojo. I was there last week.
Yeah. Shout out to Pablo Zipman. Man, we're going to do a little
We're working on a little AC membership with them as well. So, you'll get a once a month experience at Dojo. They do a great job already of changing their menu up all the time and incorporating new flavors.
You're lucky it's their week. You ever seen that movie in Ratatouille where he like bites into like a
Tell me that's your favorite cartoon movie.
I love that movie. But also your favorite cartoon movie. Ratatouille.
Yeah, it's phenomenal.
You got to watch it again. Well,
every man can cook, bro.
I want to watch it, bro. I want to watch takes a bite and he like like goes into all the flavors and stuff. That's how I feel. Add zitsum in a dojo cuz like it's stuff you tried a million times, but they put flavors together you've never experienced before. It's a whole new But I want to talk to you about that both for you guys cuz you guys are the perfect guys that I don't feel like I have that type of palette, right? I feel like if I eat anything, I just love food so I like it all the time. Do you really chew onto something and you really tell% it takes a lot to get there? Obviously, too, but like it's a lot of like bro I'm a nerd for this stuff. Like I care about how steak is graded, where it's from, the reason it is, like how it's seasoned. I feel like that makes such a big difference in the flavors. And it's like wine connoisseurs, right? I'm not there yet, but I'm trying to get into it cuz like for me, I'll try
it's a whole another world.
Yeah. I'll try aged wine and um I don't know it's much of a difference. It's a $1,200 bottle. I can't really get it, but like with food, I'm Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
Where do you get this passion from? I mean, you're what? You're 30, right?
I'm 30. Yeah.
So, you're pretty sharp to being 30 wise.
Thank you so much.
Moya was like that, too. Moya's young as [ __ ] too.
Where did you get the love for?
I'm super fan, man. I love that guy so much.
Where did you Where did you get the passion for food and stuff?
I genuinely just ever since I was younger, bro. I just wanted to matter in the city that I grew up in. Like, I just wanted to in Miami, I wanted like the restaurants that like to know me. I want to be able to like do events. I just want like when I go to heat games, I know all the little things like that made a big difference to me. I'm like I just want to matter in the city I came up in. And I feel like the way to do that here is by curating cool events. Giving people an experience they can't get anywhere else. And like for the store, a small example is I love shopping naturally. That's my favorite thing to do. Like I want to go I love getting new clothes. I love getting fresh. It makes me fun. So I want to give people the same experience I'm looking for when they walk in. It's going to smell super nice. There's going to be aroma scent being pumped. You know, everybody's going to be super nice to you. They can't wait to talk to you about what you're doing. And like you build a relationship with all your clients where it's like, yo, I'm just talking to my friends at a certain point, you know, and in the simplest way possible, we just want to do cool [ __ ] with our friends.
So, you're a control freak and
very much 100%, BRO.
THAT'S ALL I HEARD. That's all I heard. I don't [ __ ] with none of my [ __ ]
bro. He had a really dope number one, he's a very
He sounds like a politician, too, a little bit. Hang on.
He does. He speaks very well something on the back communicator
and look at that. And that's like
he has very good creative direction, right? So, one of the coolest things about his store was he had this little door in the back that you would like sneak into and it was like another store and you had all this vintage clothes.
I never thought that the vintage clothing and this nostalgic the game the trading cards was going to take off in this city cuz you you always feel like this city's like, you know, it's a clothing brand too.
Tell me a little bit about like how people gravitate really to the nostalgic feeling of of sense to the past.
So, it's two things. One, it's nostalgia is a drug right at the end of the day. Like for me at least, I was a big wrestling fan when I was growing up. So like when I was younger, you just you get teased here and that you don't notice it. Yeah. So when you get older and like I see I remember this pay-per-view when I was younger, I remember like the feelings I got from him just wearing that t-shirt reminds you of that time. So I think it's a lot of it. And two, I think fashion sucks, right? Like fast fashion is terrible. Every blank you get now is bad quality. You wear it twice, it can't we twice, wash, you can't wear it anymore. It's awful, right? So with vintage stuff, there was more craftsmanship back then. But these are pieces that are 20 years older than I am, right? And we're wearing them to this day. And like that thing's really cool for me. Even this jacket I have on is from 1994. I wasn't even born yet.
You got style, man. You got style. You got style.
Good wrench.
Yes, sir.
I was alive in that [ __ ] I was
And what do what do you think about everybody doing all these like vintage villages now in downtown Miami? They're doing vintage. There's a vintage spot in town.
Julian Henry, too. There's uh one shout out to Flaggler Vintage. He was there for like 5 years now. He's right there where they do um the Magic City Flea Market. And um bro, he's in a like I remember when we were younger that kid was like going thrifting just to like work on jeans and stuff. You didn't even think of the vision now. And like it's here now. You guys know each other?
Yeah. Yeah. And um dude, we've been the same way. Like I used to just thrift for myself or I would just work on clothes for myself like make distress my jeans, things like that.
Design stuff.
Yeah. We have a brand called 1800 vintage now. It's all one of one vintage garments. So we we it's a very sustainable thing, too. So we're not harming the ozone layer. We're not causing more pollution in there or anything like that. We're using pieces that have existed for 40 plus years and we're turning them into a whole new piece. Whether it's cut and sew, screen print over the top, distress them.
My side. Nothing in my side.
I got stuff your sides. I promise. I promise. Are you are you sending the directions to people like, "Hey, I want this done." Or you actually get down into
a little bit of both. So
everything is made in Coral Gables, Florida. I can't stress that enough. Our tailor is here. Our screen print company is here.
Amazing.
And so we're we're as homegrown as possible, you know. So like like our tailor is I'm talking about I've worked with 10 different people to make jeans the way I want. And like I would write down IKEA directions for them, right? And they would mess up everything imaginable.
Listen, you tap on something that's been it's been it's been haunting me for a long time, which I told you before here. I've tried to do merch with a handful of people in the city and since everything
This is the merch guy you're talking about.
We're telling you Listen, we've been screwed over a handful of times. You know, like
this is the guy that's going to blow up my merch.
You haven't seen my my my logos are the [ __ ]
I cannot wait, bro.
We We've been screwed over a handful of times.
I thought you knew this.
We've been screwed over a handful of times.
No, we just got dog [ __ ] results. Yeah, that I'll probably only But the thing is, so then when he's telling me he's doing this stuff, right, it was like a light bulb went in my head and I'm like, listen, this is the man to go see for the not only for the merch cuz he you have these merch guys that just, you know,
I produc copy and paste, right? But this guy actually brings in the creative direction. So, if you really have a vision of a product, if you're out there and you have a vision of product,
he's the printer. He's going to help% and that's and you have he has a history of doing good stuff too. You work her and everything.
Yeah. So, um we're helping them with off-c campus brand. I've been fortunate enough to be a part of that project. He was the very first NBA player to support our brand, which again, like, dude, he can get anything he wants. You going to blunty right now, he's a personal shopper, whatever it is, and you're choosing to [ __ ] with our stuff, like wear our clothes all the time. He would come shop regularly. He would bring me clothes to work on for him.
And um their creative director's name is Jaylen Gentry. That kid is amazing, bro. He's so willing to learn. He has questions all the time. He's from uh they're from Milwaukee originally. He just moved to Miami.
Yeah. Tyler from Milwaukee.
And uh bro, like the the attention to detail they have. We're like, "Dude, Tyler's involved in every single thing they're doing." And like that's so beautiful to see cuz like you don't need this for anything. You can buy clothes you want. But
like 100%.
He cares about what zippers on the jacket. He cares about how long the like how space the sleeves are, little things like that. And like when you have that passion for something, it's impossible for it to not succeed, you know?
So 1800 vintage. Yes, sir.
How did you 1800 vintage now? How did you think about that? How'd that start?
So, ironically enough, we had a manager at the time. His name was Nate. And um I was very into fashion. He would thrift too. And he's like, "Dude, let's put up some racks and see what we can do." And I'm not kidding, we had like a two grand budget for it. I'm like, "All right, let's see what we can do." We got a guy outside of Home Depot to come paint the wall for us that day. We bought racks, he installed it and everything. And we just put four racks in. I'm like, "All right, I'm going to go thrift for a month, rack up what we can and see what we can do." And we never looked back. Like it took off for the store.
When you say thrift, that means going to stores.
I was going So now I have it a little bit more figured out like I do with the snacks. But at first, I was just showing up to Goodwill, showing up to Salvation, going to Red, White, and Blue every day at 9:00, bringing our camera guy, and like, "All right, we're going to see what happens in 4 hours." And
no way.
Grab stuff, go to the store, let's see what works and what doesn't.
Find good stuff.
You would. It's uh probably harder now, but now what we do is I just find people who like they go to these rag houses or they go to the thrifts all day and I can just go there and buy out their whole storage unit, right? So it's like, oh, I have a guy for dolphin stuff now. I have a guy for Harley stuff. And it just makes curating it a lot easier. Cuz at first we didn't know it was going to sell. Was I'm just I literally when I'm shopping for the store, I'm buying [ __ ] I like. Like if it's not my size, it's going on the rack. If it was my size, I'm keeping it. That's all it is.
And then you you redesign it to make a new thing. It's not the same old clothes that you're getting.
Explain to a little bit how how how you go through that process cuz a lot of people say, "I don't want to wear old clothes."
No, 100%. And um so a lot of people who are into fashion, they understand like what I was explaining earlier, like dude, the new stuff's garbage. You want stuff from before. It's better quality. It's more nostalgic for you. It fits better on you. And like for example, I think 90% of a shirt is your neckline. Like a high neckline makes such a big difference how it sits on you the whole thing. And a lot of the new stuff, it gets flimsy really quick cuz it's back. I like it when it gets I like to have everything. It looks clean. It's symmetrical. Yeah.
No, no. Yeah. It's a pet peeve. Pep pee for me is when it gets a little curly,
right? or you see the little hairs or it gets turned white, you know, like it's like, you know, it's died out, you know, because there's a lot of rubbing. I don't wear a shirt after that.
Yeah. And so I look for specific old shirts and um we'll like, for example, if we're doing like we do a lot of cut and sew, we sew sleeves under, I'm looking for shirts that have like a thinner neckline, like kind of from the ' 80s cuz in the '9s and early 2000s, they used like the heavy cotton, the bigger TE's, all that kind of stuff. In the ' 80s, it was more like dress style where it was like very thin apparel, like the pants were all pleated, things like that. So, depends on what the drop we're doing is, but we try to make every drop very different. We've done glitter prints before. I need a drop. My partner brags on me all the time that I should be more fashionable and [ __ ]
We'll take care of that.
I'm going to be honest. So maybe you might be the answer.
I hope so.
I think so, bro. Ask
get some merch done. We'll get it done before then. I promise.
No, the merch, too. But like maybe shirts that I can ask you what things I've been losing a little weight now. I'm getting sexy.
I like that. I like that.
But what kind of fits my size of course?
Like I refuse to get anything larger than 4X because I don't want to go higher. So I've been dropping it down now.
Perfect. you know, adjusting clothes kind of baggy. So,
I'll intro you to the tailor and like you you can go shop at Target if you have a good tailor and it fits you perfectly. That's 90% of it.
We were all we were me and you were together with the food and stuff. So, you said when you enjoy shopping for me it was like a punishment, you know, when you were married your wife got
you stand by the bathroom. That's me. But that's okay.
But I take advice from you cuz you you got some swag.
I'll take it easy for you. R, you know, rub a little bit off on me.
Of course, man.
Get some stuff. Have you uh when you when you talk about thrifting, where do you usually go and do those things? Like is Miami Twice a thrift store? Is that like something
that's more for like women's like uh like bags and things like that, you know? So I think all secondhand stores are good. It's worth checking out cuz you never know what you're going to find. And like we're talking about stuff from 40 years ago. There might be five of these shirts left, right? And it's just right place, right time. I think a lot of it is. But I think stores like ours where it's more curated for you, like dude, you can walk in and shop blind, right? You can grab any 4XT, any pants that are your size, and I promise it'll go together and look good on you. Right. And that's the whole thing.
And what And pricing is usually pretty competitive or
Yeah. So, I'd like to think we're the cheapest priced um like like uh curated vintage store. So, I can't be thrift pricing. Obviously, I'm not getting stuff donated. We're paying for it at the end of the day and we have a lot of overhead. But, um I'd like to think we're the most competitively priced cuz my thing is I want I want you to see it. Look at the price tag. This is no brainer. Like, I'm not even going to it's not even worth me checking online to save money, right? So, that's our goal with that.
Love that.
Talking about uh price points and like we were saying, going to the store physically and buying something physically is important, right? I'm sure
100%. That's, you know, because if you're buying something vintage, you might as well do it the vintage way and go purchase it and actually see something that you can physically buy.
Grab it, smell it, feel it, try it on, like the whole
Another point I wanted to talk about real quick before I ask you a question. You guys are big in events, right? Local events.
Yes. That's my favorite thing to do. Activate Miami.
Yeah. I myself do events. Uh we do events together,
be a part of some of them.
Yeah. So, talk to me about why why so passionate with the events.
Yeah. So, it's I want fun things to do for people in our city. I want to build a community of people who want to go to these dope, sorry, these dope exclusive ass events where like you're getting a menu. It's one night only. It might be a caviar theme and you're going to have caviar on everything, right? Not just like a single dish or whatever. You're going to have a very fun experience and it's like every dish will be memorable. Every experience will be memorable and you'll get something that nobody else is going to get to experience besides you on that one day. And I think that's so important cuz you you can make a Daniel's reservation whenever you want. You can walk into Luca whenever you want and you'll get an amazing experience every time, but it's a lot of the same thing, right? as opposed to we do an Omic ACI dinner last Thursday of every month and we just did a 100 pound tuna carving for that one. The one before that we did a nine course menu all caviar based upon before that we did it with all wagu at Sora.
No, we did this at um so there's a messoria behind bodega. So they reached out to us originally. Dude, shout out bodega. They're bodega this [ __ ]
Awesome. They hate the tacos. No brainer.
So usually the back of bodega is very like club setting. People buying sections. There's bottles coming out. The Coral Gables one has a very small, dimly lit, intimate room. It fits about 16 people at a time. And the thing we were able to do with that, they reached out to me and were like, "How can we activate this more?" And I was like, "Yo, let me throw a dinner." And they within a second we're like, "Yeah, go for it. Whatever you want."
And we got Marco.
Tell me you're a sushi chef, too.
I'm not yet, but I'm getting there. I promise.
Tell me who's the chef you use for these things.
So, this is Marco from UB Box. He's been the chef we've only
right here. The ones that
what I was waiting for, baby.
Hey, I'm going to go in. I'm going to go for the kid has a hospitality degree from Cornell. He's so detail oriented. It's insane. Like, he's one of the best chefs I've ever worked with.
Here. Hey, just open this one so you don't have to open.
I heard I heard real people with sauce, bro. No, you got to try with the soy sauce, bro.
And I'm gonna go with my hand like a real G.
There you go.
Flip it upside down when you eat.
So, Tommy, tell me about Ubi. What's up with the partnership?
So, dude, he he's a good friend of mine. We met him before and he was the first person I called for this experience cuz I know he's again, he's very detail oriented. He cares about this to the tea and he's so big on like we're not putting out bad product. We're not going to put out any product. Incredible. Right. Presentation wise, yeah,
dude, it's an Omic AC box delivered to your door. They start at 40 bucks. Like, I don't know where else you're going to get that.
Bro, with time now everything,
this is a little more expensive, but they have a Mac boxes for $40, which is not bad.
I can't wait for you guys to try it, bro.
And he ships where?
Oh, it's it's worldwide. So, it's delivery, so it's um not worldwide, sorry. It's citywide. And it's it'll be with you in 30 minutes. And even when
And where is he like where's he operating out of?
It's out of Munch Labs in downtown Miami. So, they have like a ghost kitchen essentially. And uh dude, he has two kitchens together and like they have it down to a tea. They have a smoker there. They have everything else you could possibly need.
And bro, he's amazing.
Thank you so much, man. I definitely will with you guys.
Yeah. Yeah. Have fun, bro. How there
chopsticks?
Listen. Wow. And how did he think like why is he not like in a restaurant or what?
Yeah. So, same thing for him. Like it's not worth the overhead right now. I think like they're killing it with their concept right now because it's a lot of I the way the economy is going too like dude you don't want to go out and spend 500 bucks every night. I used to literally go to dinner Tuesday to Sunday. Like no matter what, I'm going out. Monday was my one day to actually work and stuff.
No, this is delicious. You be telling Shout out to Chef Marco, man.
Bro, it's amazing,
Marco.
And dude, he tests the food literally. Like he'll put it in the box, wait 30 minutes, then try it. Cuz that's how long it's going to take you to get.
That's what I'm saying. That's exactly what difference. That's what I brought.
This is,
bro, this is amazing.
My favorite so far.
All of them.
This is crazy. I'm starving, too.
Mhm.
Ram, tell me about these events that you're doing, these very exclusive events. And also if someone is interested in doing an event with you, how does that work out?
Yeah, so 100% any business can always reach out to us. Feel free to DM us at the Bakery Coral Gables. We have an amazing team. Shout out to our friend Nat. She runs all of our social media, all of our content, all of our event planning. And I genuinely think the amount of stuff we're doing, it's not possible without a good team and a good foundation. And um yeah, Nat and Eddie are like two big parts of our team that do like a lot of stuff for us. So I just want to give them a quick shout out for that. But um yeah, the events, any business can reach out to us anytime. If you want to activate it in any way, if you want to make cool merch for your brand, we just did a line of merch for Movement Lab, the gym. And um it's an amazing gym in Miami Lakes. It's nothing but NBA dudes there, NFL guys. Like it's very like curated for athletes and it's not like a socializing gym. No one's doing their posting clips, taking reals or anything like that. And we did a merch line for them and they sold out within two weeks and they sorted another set of them. So it's doing well.
What events do you have coming in the future that people can
So every month, no matter what, we do a burger and beats event. So typically it's the first Friday or second Friday of every month, we get a different burger company and we get a different DJ every time. This month we're actually doing it at Leistro in River Landing. Uh, shout out to our homie Olivier. He is a phenomenal person to work with.
How many seats available for something like that?
Um, it's that's an open event, so there's no ticket or anything. Um, it gets full pretty quickly, but you can show up whenever you want. It starts at 7:30. I'd say get there before 9:00. You'll guarantee yourself a spot.
No, there's no payment to
This one's free. Pull up, grab a burger, get a drink, have some fun with us.
Is there a limit to how many burgers you can eat?
No, we're pumping them out. But so, a friend of mine sells to Shadow Wagu as well.
Alex, her name's Kyle. Miami Purveyors, though.
Oh, okay. Alex is the owner of Shagu.
Oh, yeah. I was the homie. Yeah, he's the best, bro. They're amaz dude. That's We'll talk about that later when we go to restaurants, but he's one of the best people in the city and they really they really do something good there.
But yeah, so we're getting the same burgers that are at Shadow Wagu are now available at Leistro in River Landing. So you can get them anytime you want.
Big time.
They're going to give us one menu item a month as well. In the first month, we're going to launch a steak fre with a Wagu hanger steak, double fried fries, and wagu tallow and an alprov sauce that he's going to make from scratch. It's going to be amazing.
It's impressive.
We're here, bro.
He's setting. I'm [ __ ] buying.
Food's what we do, man. Food's what we do. But outside of food events, we do a bunch of other stuff as well. So, every month
I'm doing one. I want to do one with the event guy, bro. He's the event.
We're here, man. We're going to do him together. I'm the marketing guy. He could be the guy.
That's right. You're the marketing guy. I just met my food twin. This is [ __ ] awesome. Talk to me about this Komo.
Cooko seafood, baby.
Seafood. Seafood.
This is a conflict of interest here because I I sell interest more than enough for
Are you sure?
What if there's people calling in that are my clients? I'm I'm going to tell them we can't touch them though.
Yeah. No, I'm just kid.
Tell me about it because because our our similarities are pretty unreal. Go ahead.
We're twins, bro.
Tell me about the people we partnered with. It was a brand called Coco. It's a good friend of mine. His name is Michael's Runner. This guy is like I'm talking about he's head of the Yale Alumni Club. Like he's insanely tapped in and he's something very detail- oriented. They have a plant in the Bahamas. Everything is caught, cleaned, cooked, packaged all in one facility, all on a remote island. It's phenomenal the way they're setting it up. And we do stone crab, tuna, and caviar delivered to your door. And we are the cheapest price on stone crabs retail by a mile.
Is it you you operate that apart from the bakery?
Yes. So, it's a separate business entirely. Um, we're setting up a bunch of events with them. Stone crab season just got started. So, our delivery days typically are we get fresh crab in every Thursday and we drop it off every Friday for clients and whoever the restaurants are usually get it on Friday as well. We're setting up a stone crab Sunday dinner with Sora. So, you'll get a chance to come by, see like curated stone crab dishes, the whole thing.
Sora, you said
Sora. Chef.
Yes, sir. Chef V, bro. Speaking of Miami staples, Niara was one of my favorite restaurants in Miami.
I was there day one.
I love that place so much, man.
It was my favorite restaurant for 5 years conara.
We focus only for on caviar.
Caviar, tuna, and crabs. Is it delivery box? We have like delivery boxes.
Listen, you should be doing stuff like that like my crabs better than fish is.
I bet you guys would be able to tell the difference.
I don't want to say that.
I got you.
Damn. But um do you guys sell do you guys sell lights or no?
What do you mean lights?
Like you know what lights are stone crab wise? So uh for example a large stone crab typically between three and a half ounces and 5 ounces. If it's the size of a large but it weighs like 3.1 ounces. You can't sell it to Joe's. I can't sell it to Milo. I can't give it to Wild for because it's not it's deemed a light which means it's not the exact weight. We sell those retail for $20 a pound. You can get them whenever you want from us and you get you get jumbo and colossal sometimes. So yeah.
It's a great price.
Yeah. And it bro it's an excuse for someone who's like I understand stone crab is very high market. When I go to Joe's, bro, it cost me $2.
For 19 is what we
There we go. But that's for you. And
yeah, no. Damn. Crazy, bro.
But bro, there's
I love that business, bro. I love the
crab used to be good. Now people just don't waste the money. They don't want the economy in general, too.
It's such a tough business, bro. And
that's why we're doing the lights more than anything cuz like I I want to be the cheapest crab.
Yeah, you want to get money.
If you don't want to spend 80 bucks a pound to try it, I get it. 20 bucks, bro. Try them. if you like them or expensive.
And honestly, man, that's real community based. Like, you're reaching the masses, you know? You're not like hitting the top of the top, you know?
And even when we price stuff in the store, I'm I'm pricing it what I would pay for it and be happy with. I'm a consumer at the end of the day. I know that's what the experience is trying to give out. So, if I wouldn't pay $50 for this shirt, I'm not going to price it at $50. You know, it's just what it is. We make less money on it.
Profit margin is not what it used to be at all.
Listen, we have a lot of people out there that are shopping for the holidays, right? Uh for Christmas and everything. Uh what can they get at the bakery? Is there any like nice little gifts that we can get like for like, you know, my teenage daughter?
What can he get for me?
Yeah. What can I get for Kiko at the bakery?
For Kiko, we can get a nice piece of Denver A5 Wagu. We'll get some Golden Yo caviar to pair with it.
Some Yubu sushi. Give me some.
We'll get you a sushi box as well.
No, no. You said it already with the caviar, bro.
Yeah, we got you a Wagu caviar. We'll get We'll get a nice little ball of olive oil. You haven't seen some artal soy sauce. Some cool beers. We'll get it going for him.
He's evolved in a year.
I have. I have. you know, I've known him for a long time, but
I'm trying to learn how to cook now,
dude. Same. I got to recently waiting him for a year to, you know, go ahead and get the little bit of waggle and go the extra mile.
You notice the difference, bro. He's doing it now.
I'm a very efficient person.
Take pictures, bro. I'm like, take pictures of your food, you know?
Yeah. All that.
Cooking is fun, man. I look forward to cooking is fun.
I I swear I used to say this all the time. Like, cooking is the brokest thing you'll ever do cuz the amount of time it takes you, the amount of money, like whatever money you think you're saving, you're losing in time. Prep, clean up, all that. I enjoy it so much now. I look forward, bro. Soy cure egg yolks now. I'll leave them in my fridge for a week. Like we'll dry ourselves more time on a Monday.
Crazy backyard.
Oh, that's insane.
Where was I? He found her in my backyard and I did it obviously cuz I wanted to post it as well. I'm like, "Yo, on a Monday." But that's cuz you enjoy
what it is. Yeah. And dude, I send Nat pictures all the time of it. I'm like, "Whatever we make for dinner." I tell my girlfriend all the time, she does not understand how good she has it. We're like, "Bro, I'll just get bored on a Tuesday." Like, "We're making chicken nuggets and caviar." My wife
before you make your the next move, this is going to be the best guess for the question at the end.
I know. No, I'm putting out the edit right now. So,
Oh, okay. So, go ahead.
Go for it.
No, no, no. This question is brought to you by Toast, South Florida's number one POS system for all your restaurant needs.
I'm actually very interested.
Go ahead. He's your boy. Go ahead.
Has to say about this. You got to give us your top three restaurants.
Can I give you top five?
You can give us top five.
And we would like to give you lunch and dinner cuz it's very different vibes. Okay, Ben, we go with that edit.
Okay. Okay, but first lunch. Starting with your fifth.
Let's separate them.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah, of course. We're gonna We're going to go lunch all the way down first.
Let me look at my list real quick.
Go first.
[ __ ] go. You're going to get so heated if you say the wrong thing.
Ready?
Lunch first.
Lunch first. Number five.
For lunch. The patio at the Joyce. If you haven't been there, highly recommend it. There's five things on that menu. It's a burger that's phenomenal. It's their version of a fileo fish. It's the best wings in the city by mile. It's a Caesar salad with a chicken cutlet on top. And best wings in the city.
I promise you. Best wings in the city.
For my birthday. I went to the Joys for dinner.
I love How'd you like it?
Where's it at?
The best Miami Beach.
But I got clbers for still.
No, I believe I believe.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
But it was a good experience and I like the vibe.
It's amazing.
They might not win and [ __ ] or like wait for space and it's like
small seating area outside if you want to go early. Like it's a really cool place. It's going to be a good one.
That's number four for lunch.
Number four. We're going Gramp's Getaway in Kiscane
outdoor. You get to be on the water. Lobster roll is phenomenal. The conchk is incredible. Like it's a great place to check out. And dude, I feel like you don't get a lot of like good spots on the water like that where it's like very true. Brought that whole feeling back.
Feel like old Miami. That's my number four.
That would be more on top. Okay, number three. You've been there to that one from Kar of course.
Number three is UV box sushi. Highly recommend it, bro.
Don't mind, right?
Yeah. Shout out Chef Marco, bro. He's the homie. We We need more of these. But outside of just the ACS box, they have them on the menu.
That's That's got you. Whatever you need. That's the homie, right?
Yeah.
And so they paid by Marco.
I'm not being paid by Marco. I promise.
I've had these before when I as soon as I got the box and I saw it.
It's a It's a refreshing piece of fish. They have bowls on the menu. First of all, their bowls are $12. It's the cheapest thing you're going to get.
[ __ ] del. All right. Okay. You be number two.
Number two is Gelano's Deli. It's
Damn, bro. I haven't been. But
the best sandwiches in the world.
You're not being paid.
You feel like I'm not at all. You feel like you're in Italy. I promise you. I was a fan of the place before I even met them. They're great people. I love supporting them.
But I'll tell you this. What worries me about that? This is something that when I see all the influencers going and then they show videos of long lines. I'm a guy who I try to be efficient. I'm going to show up there and wait for two hours. Man,
I understand what you're saying, but don't get mad if influencers like it, too.
No, I don't care if they like it. I just
When I see that line, when I see those lines out there, I'm like, "Bro, I'm not going to ever eat." I'm never going to eat there, bro. When I'm not going to wait 2 hours in a line to go there.
Order it on Uber.
No, no. What I need to do is go with you.
Of course.
My stickers on the door.
Yeah, bro.
Hood's my boy. I'm so proud of him. They're killing it, bro. They're killing it.
No, but he's always he's always selling out.
He Bro, they they do a great job, Dude. They're in a They're in a random spot in Coral Gables, like right near Sunset Place. like the first one-year-old that had more vision than I did
meeting him and he's done everything that he talked [ __ ] about.
He's phenomenal, man. He's killing it.
Shout out to you, Julio and Gus.
Shout out to Gus and Julio, brother. Generally amazing.
He was uh Joano, the videographer, too, bro. He was the videographer. He's the best videographer I ever had.
He was amazing. Send me a check, Julio. Big fan of his.
Send me a check.
Great person, bro.
Better than you, bro.
Damn. You got to meet that kid. Better than you.
No, he's great people, bro. You're nothing.
And I'll go I'll go toe to toe with you and Ben, bro.
Whatever, bro. Ben, I guess Ben Ben is younger. Ben is younger now.
I'll go I'll go with my guy, but you can stay with Jolano. I'll go Ben all day.
Tell this guy about those salt bay videos I used to produce.
Dude, it was insane. Like Su, I seen his stuff before. Before anybody was like a real photographer, he was ahead of the video cuz it was it was video, bro. Remember, I have every single swag video that I did with him on my Instagram.
I love that.
Anyway, shout out to him. I swear number two number one number one lunch in the city and I I can vouch for this. Ask Nat. We go four times a week. It is Leistro in River Landing. No,
you get one, not only you get an amazing steaks, you get one of the best burgers in the city, you get a quick escargo bite. The bread's obviously phenomenal. Facel's won best bread in the city for years now.
Um, they have a quick, they have like a bowl program now. It's like a power lunch, but you get a bowl for 15 bucks and it's amazing. Again, it's quick grab and go and like the ingredients are very fresh. You taste the difference. So, I highly recommend
Olivia out there. They do a great job, man. They do a great job.
He got one on me. He got one on.
Come this Friday, bro. You haven't been to Li? Well, we have a thing in downtown Miami. What time is that?
It's 7:30 to midnight.
Yeah, actually, I might be able to go.
I'll come through.
Our thing is from 4:00 to 6:30.
Perfect. Come right after. Yeah,
I got crazy events. I'll see you in January.
I love that.
All right. All right. Dinner.
We're going to dinner, bro. Toast. This is the first time.
Shout out to Gabby Yiddi, by the way. You're going to see Toast Retail a couple markets we're going to do with them. I'm very excited about that.
Great person, man. And she's a great sales person.
She is the best, bro.
She's the best, bro. She's the best.
This is the first time we ever do this. to give somebody two sets.
Two sets of
the guy the guy
this this is this
the guy spitting knowledge
man. So
number five
go for it.
Number five dinner spot in Miami is Fatalino in Coral Gables. If you have not been and you want to understand what grandma's cooking feels like. This is the place, bro.
I haven't been.
Low ceilings. It's the If you go on a Monday at 7, it's the same people every single every single Monday at 7. Same every Tuesday. It's a standing reservation. It's tough to get a table at, but it's so worth trying. They have a vodka sauce penet with a chicken cutlet that like literally feels like my grandmother made it. They have a lasagna bolognese that is like if if you feel the love in the cooking and like I feel like it's lost lot.
Who's he who's over there?
Um the son's name is Betto. The dad's name is also Betto.
Betto. Yeah. So I went there. Richard Lara, one of our commissioners is a big fan. That's what that was in his top three. And I decided to go over there just walk like try to walk in you know on Friday night brother I love it. I love you guys but you know he goes I have no space for you right now.
Is insane. I had so I haven't been able to go, but I've heard the same thing. People have told me that it's phenomenal,
dude. I got you. I got you the reservation whenever you want the place. I would love to take you guys. Be awesome.
I love it. Right.
Number four, and it's the only sushi place that's going to make the list. This is Rocky Omas in Dural. If you have not been or heard of it, Chef Richard Wang,
it's um right off of like I think it's um Rocky. I went there. Chrissy Frogga mentioned that. I went there after she mentioned that.
How' you like it? How'd you like it? I loved it,
dude. He's so ahead. That guy likes two things in the world and that's it.
He's and he only cares about two things and it's sushi and the NBA. That's all that guy cares about,
bro. That's it. That's it. Frog said it. I went the other day after she went. Shout out to them.
Phenomenal.
Okay, number three.
Number three. That's
Shadow Wagu.
Shadow. Al is the homie. You cannot
Al's the homie.
It feels like you're leaving Miami. It feels like you're in a small spot in New York off the corner and you're getting just nothing but phenomenal bikes. No glitz, no glam.
I have to I have to
No gold on anything. Nothing. No girls, nothing. It's just straight good food. Everything on that menu top to bottom from the wagu chili all over the steak frees bro. I did the chef's table there invited me for the first time. We had a blast for all of us. Then I invited my boys to do a chef's table. And I got to tell you, it feels like you're home. Like you're just hanging out, bro. You know, you're chilling in the back with the chef.
I owe him a visit. I owe him a visit.
And it's amazing. Amazing experience. A1. There's nothing in the city that you you can feel like
Nothing close. Nothing close.
Solid pick. All right. Number two is Daniel's Steakhouse. Daniel, you're so basic. Ram, you're so basic. I was there last week, too.
It's the first place in a while cuz Sunny's does is a good job of this. Like, it feels like a traditional steakhouse. Like, I'm getting the twice baked potato. I'm getting the amazing bread up top. You get the chicken nuggets and caviar. The steaks obviously are a hit. Like,
I had the crab cake was fire.
Yeah. I had the ribey going to a steakhouse with my dad. Like, I love that feeling.
And the the service is Danny Chef. Danny's one of my judges at the Pigro. So good people, too, man. Very family oriented.
Rams number one.
Number one spot in the city of Miami is Zitum in Coral Gables. Shout out to Chef Pablo Zipman. Bro,
every time you walk in there, it's a curated. The flavors are phenomenal. It's like that scene in Ratatouille where he puts together the cheese and the fruit and he bites. He's like, it's a whole new thing. That's how I feel every time. All the time.
Every week almost. It's literally I follow his personal Instagram account like Oh, I found these cool mangoes the other day. We're making a mango dessert tomorrow. It's one day only. Like, I live for something like that, man.
He's a real chef. I I went last week and I tried the menu and everything was delicious.
Across the street from us.
I got to stop working so much, bro.
It's across the street from us.
It's so good, bro. It's so good.
It's really It's really Where where's it? It's
in the in the FIFA building. Right under there. Yeah.
Right across Kenny Louis and I got to go, man. I got to go.
Yo, that was crazy, bro.
Outside of the food events, we also do a lot of like intimate experiences. So, we do a self-care Saturday event that through Making It Miami. That's again our friend Atalia. She handles all of this for us. And it's a very curated experience. It's very girly themed where like you go take a Pilates class, take a yoga class in the morning. Immediately after that, there's a flower bouquet making station. We were screen printing tote bags last time live. And it's a very fun thing for girls to go check out and just like hang out with your friends, go spend a Saturday, enjoy the experiences. And we do that about twice a month now. There's one at River Landing.
I was going to say, where are you guys doing these?
So we switch them up, but right now it's in River Landing is the next one. It's on the 22nd and then usually at the Underline right off of US1 in Coconut Grove. Bro, the Underland could use a lot more activations. Man,
I think there's good spaces in Miami that need activations and like, you know, we're hopefully going to bridge the gap for them on that.
Don't let it go dying again.
This is Ram from the bakery Coral Gables. You can now find us in River Landing inside the capsule space. We're going to turn the entire space into your own version of a farmers market. But every single day, we host monthly events like our sushi and spins dinner. It's the last Thursday of every month. We host a burger and beats event. The first Friday of every month, we host a self-care Saturday. Usually between the second and third Saturday of the month. And throughout the month, we're always hosting random pop-up dinners, cool events, stuff for you guys to check out. Shoot us a DM, make an appointment to come shop, make a styling appointment. We'd love to take care of your closet for you. If you're a brand who wants to make merch, you want to activate your space, anything like that, feel free to reach out to us at the bakery Coral Gables or at Making It Miami.
Yeah. So, if you guys are looking, I know, I know how it is. You're busy, you have that idea, you want to do this pop-up event, this is the guy to do it. We'll make your vision come to life. And we will go and support you guys, too, and we we'll work something out. But this is this is something that the city needs, man.
No, 100%, bro. And uh thank you guys for having me on here. So glad to be part of this,
brother. You've been one of my favorite interviews. Super impressive. Thank you for you guys.
Love you guys.
